Man o' War (March 29, 1917 – November 1, 1947) was an American Thoroughbred who is widely considered one of the greatest racehorses of all time. Several sports publications including The Blood-Horse, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, and the (AP) Associated Press voted Man o' War as the outstanding horse of the 20th century.
Similar sculptures have survived in small scale: The Wax Horse and Rider (c.1506–08) is a fragmentary model for an equestrian statue of Charles d'Amboise. The Rearing Horse and Mounted Warrior in bronze was also attributed to Leonardo.
